A polki bracelet sets polki — uncut natural diamond — in gold the way Jaipur always has, in kundan. Ours include the polki kada, one bold band for the wrist, and polki set beside navratna in the ponchi.

Polki bracelet or polki kada?
A polki kada is rigid and round, slipped over the hand or opened on a hinge; a polki bracelet is flexible — linked or strung — and closes with a clasp or a tie. A kada draws one bold line across the wrist; a bracelet follows the wrist and sits closer.
What polki is, and how to tell the real thing from imitation, is in our polki guide and polki vs kundan.
Ask about a polki kadaBefore you choose a polki kada
Does it open?
A kada with no opening has to pass over the hand, so it is sized by the hand, not the wrist; one that opens on a hinge can sit closer to the wrist.
Hold it by the gold
Open and close a polki kada by its sides or its clasp, never by pressing on the stones — polki sits in kundan on a bed of lac, and pressure on the face loosens it.
Paper for the polki
Ask what the polki weighs in carats, and for a lab report — from a laboratory such as GTL Jaipur.
Where it goes in a stack
Worn with bangles, put the kada at the end of the stack so the polki isn't knocked by the gold beside it.
Is polki a diamond or a stone?
A diamond — a natural one, left uncut. Instead of being faceted into a brilliant, it is sliced flat and polished, so it shows a soft, glassy face rather than sparkle; in kundan work a gold foil behind it gives it its glow.
How is a polki stone held in a kada?
With no prongs and no glue. The polki is laid on lac in a gold cup, and strips of pure gold foil — kundan — are pressed in round its edge and burnished until they grip it. That is why a polki kada should never be squeezed by its face: the foil holds the stone, and pressure can lift it.
One polki kada or a pair?
One makes a statement on its own; a pair, one on each wrist, is the bridal way to wear them.
Can polki be set with other stones in a bracelet?
Yes — polki is often set beside rubies and emeralds, or with the nine stones of the navratna ponchi.
